"Keeping a journal will change your life in ways that you'd never imagine." -- Oprah Winfrey
"Confessional writing has been around at least since the Renaissance, but new research suggests that it's far more therapeutic than anyone ever knew. Researchers found direct physiological evidence that writing about your feelings and experiences is good for your physical health... writing increased the level of disease-fighting lymphocytes circulating in the bloodstream." -- Newsweek, April, 1999
"Journaling is a valuable therapeutic tool that can be used for individuals with a wide range of medical problems. Journaling provides a place to record feelings, fears, and inspirations. This technique improves patient adjustment and compliance with treatment as it assists patients in expressing their feelings." -- William Allen, M.D. |
Strike at Cancer's Healing Journals were developed with the foundation Journals Unlimited as a way for cancer patients to keep track of thoughts and feelings, as well as a place to track medical treatment, keep track of appointments, test results, medications, dosages, insurance information and more. The Journals can also be used by the parents of pediatric oncology patients. The journals are available at no cost to oncology professionals to share with their patients, or can be requested by individuals directly from our Foundation.
Corporate Sponsorships
The Foundation is seeking sponsorships for our Healing Journals. Our goal is to provide a journal at no cost to every interested person afflicted with cancer in our Chicagoland community. In return for a sponsorship, Journals Unlimited, Inc. will print your company or organization name or logo on the first page of the journal, which would show through a die cut window on the cover. Organizations have the option to add a special message to the patients in an insert page.
The journals are offered to us at prices well below wholesale for any quantities ranging from 50 to 50,000. Additionally, for each journal purchased through a sponsor, Journals Unlimited, Inc. will donate 50 cents per journal to the Strike at Cancer Foundation.
